The first of SHELLY’s classes is on Thursday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m. We call it OLD FASHIONED COMFORT FOOD ($45). These are favorite recipes we’ve accumulated over the years and always enjoy serving to family and friends. There’s nothing fancy here; just tasty. We start with a Mixed Green Salad with Luminaire’s Dressing. The main course is an adaptation of Julia Child’s Meat Loaf recipe, served with Brussels Sprouts in Brown Butter and Baked Scalloped Potatoes in Cream. The dessert is an old recipe from SHELLY’s mother, Bebe’s Sour Cream Coffee Cake. It’s good for breakfast, lunch, or dessert after dinner. You’ll like this menu. I guarantee it.

SHELLY SACKETT, our school director, is also our most popular instructor. She repeats her classes on a regular basis because her foods have such universal appeal and you keep asking her to repeat them. She’s taught more than 30 different menus, and repeats the same dozen or so “stand-bys” every year. SHELLY has one rule: You don’t need any great skills to take these classes, and these are recipes you will use again and again.
