"Hands-On Italian Menu Class"

TiramisuOn Monday, August 9 at 6:00 p.m. by  your request, SHELLY and MIKE will offer a “hands-on” class to the first 9 students who register. This “HANDS-ON ITALIAN MENU CLASS ($75) is expensive because we take so few students in the class, but it’s worth every penny. You, not we, will make an Italian Mixed Vegetable Salad with a Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing.  Our entrée is Chicken Piccata served over (purchased) linguine pasta accompanied by Roasted Asparagus Spears and a made-from-scratch Rosemary Focaccia (bread). Dessert (to die for) is The Ultimate Tira Mi Su, a recipe adapted from our friend Joanne Weir. Your friends will think you’ve gone to culinary school, with what you’ll learn in just  one class. We’ll also discuss knife skills, basic kitchen hygiene and safety practices. Please ask about what to wear when you sign up for this class. It’s important that you are “properly” attired for the class. This class will fill quickly, we’re sure.

SHELLY SACKETT,  our school director, is also our most popular instructor. She repeats her classes  on a regular basis because her foods have such universal appeal and you keep asking her to repeat them. She’s taught more than 30 different menus, and repeats the same dozen or so “stand-bys”  every year. SHELLY has one rule: You don’t need any great skills to take these classes, and these are recipes you will use again and again.
