VIRGINIA WILLIS first taught for us last year, and you (y’all) just loved her. VIRGINIA is the author of Bon Appétit, Y’all! Three Generations of Southern Cooking (Ten Speed Press, 2008). A protégée of Nathalie Dupree’s, she assisted her with four PBS cooking shows and cookbooks. VIRGINIA also produced Turner South’s Home Plate and the DVD Shirley Corriher’s Kitchen Secrets Revealed! Previously she served as the Kitchen Director for Martha Stewart Living Television where she supervised the food segments for the Emmy-award winning television show. With MSLTV, Virginia was also responsible for preparing private meals and events for Martha and her guests-including among others, President Clinton, Aretha Franklin, and Julia Child. With her “simple-is-best” philosophy, Willis uses the finest ingredients, relies on traditional French technique, and lets the food shine through in a style she calls “refined Southern cuisine.” She’s terrific, and an excellent teacher.
