In this class you'll learn to make quick and simple biscuits along with traditional English muffins and boiled bagels (no bagel pans in this class!). Recipe variations for the addition of things like raisins, cinnamon and others will be covered. Class is limited to 16.

Ed Bartush - Wusthof Knives Sales Rep.
Ed will discuss knife construction, metal composition and sharpening. He'll also demonstrate proper cutting techniques along with a few tips and tricks that you can use in your own kitchen. You'll learn to properly cut onions and tomatoes, de-bone a chicken, carve a chicken or turkey and make an apple swan garnish! Best of all, you'll get your own Wusthof Classic paring knife to use and take home. This knife retails for $50 and has been given a "Highly Recommended" rating by Cooks Magazine! This is a hands-on class limited to 14. Prior to class, Ed will be available to sharpen your knives for $2 each.

KNIFE SHARPENING 
Friday, October 13, 2017 - 5:30 to 6:00 pm, $2 per knife. You don't have to be taking the class to have your knives sharpened, open to all. Remember to take extra care bringing your knives home, it's Friday the 13th!

Mark your calendars now for what has become our favorite day of the year. We'll be entertaining you with product demonstrations, door prizes (over $1,000 in merchandise last year!), special sales and food samples. Representatives from Wusthof, Le Creuset, Chantal, Joseph Joseph, Kyocera, Nordic Ware, Cole & Mason, Zyliss, Corkcicle, Epicurean, Kuhn Rikon and more will be on hand to answer questions and discuss their newest products. This is not a class, but is free and open to the public. See you there!

RICOTTA FRESCA

This class is all about wonderful fresh ricotta cheese. You'll learn how to easily make your own ricotta cheese and fresh lasagna noodles. We'll stuff the noodles into manicotti rolls and top with a fresh tomato basil sauce. While that is in the oven, Dagmar will make one of her favorite desserts from Providence, RI, Ricotta Pie! This pie is more cheese cake than pie, but soooo delizioso! Class is limited to 16.

LOVE ME TENDER

Dave Rudie - Parkersburg Country Club
Chef Dave will use four different vessels for cooking and naturally tenderizing inexpensive cuts of meat. The meats will include, pork, beef, and maybe goat (the number one meat eaten in the world!). Dave will be using a pressure cooker, tajine, salt block, and a Dutch oven. Be prepared to taste several mouthwatering, tender dishes. This class is right up Chef Dave's alley, guaranteed to be lots of fun! Class is limited to 16.

Just in time to ward off Dracula's favorite holiday! You can never eat too much garlic. It's been keeping people healthy for generations. We will make everything garlic! Garlic soup, 40 clove garlic chicken, and garlic mashed potatoes. You will learn how to roast garlic and infuse olive oil. We will pass around parsley after the meal (the natural breath neutralizer, that's why parsley is the most popular garnish!) Class is limited to 16.

David Nichols - Chef, Marietta College
Chef David will take us back in time to our Pilgrim roots. Using pumpkins as a cooking vessel, he will show us how to make a delicious beef stew baked in pumpkin. And for dessert he will make pumpkin cupcakes with spiced butter cream icing and a crunchy topping of salted caramel pop-corn! What a cool NEW holiday tradition for Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve! An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Stay healthy during the holidays by serving up lots of dishes featuring amazing apples. Dagmar will be making a curried apple and onion soup, baked pork chops with an apple walnut stuffing, butternut squash and apple bake, and Ozark pudding. The "pudding" was a favorite of Bess Truman and Dagmar's Granny! Class is limited to 16.
 
CHRISTMAS KIDS MAKE AND TAKE CLASS
