Grilling season lasts all year long, but the long days and warm temperatures of summer are a daily invitation to light up the grill. The grill anchors the outdoor kitchen, and becomes the center for al fresco dining and leisurely entertaining.
IN THIS ISSUE, we're firing up the grill for a delicious start to the summer. Kabobs are quick to prepare, inexpensive, and totally delicious, thanks to mouth-watering marinades. You'll find three kabob recipes and many great tips for skewering up some tasty summer suppers on the grill. |

You Can't Tell Me It's Not Summer Already!
It's hard to believe that summer is still a month away. With a couple of back-to-back 80 degree days, knee-high grass and the AC running in the store the past few days, I'd swear we're already there! All the more reason to clean off the grill and start cooking outside again!
If you're looking for more information on grilling than you find in this issue, check out our Grilling Class on June 1st. Most of the class will be conducted outside on the back patio, which is a nice place to be on a summer night.
If you're just an occasional BBQ type, or tailgater, you'll appreciate the new Cuisinart portable grill. It folds up like a small suitcase, runs on economical propane gas and has an available fold-up stand (if you don't have a tailgate or picnic table to put it on). Stop by and we'll demonstrate its features for you.
Not the outdoor grilling type, but love to eat BBQ? Mark your calendar for the Brick Street BBQ on June 10 & 11.
Hunt Brawley, Director of the Colony Theater, (this is a benefit for the Colony) assures me that the number of entrants this year should be close to double last year's! Take part in the People's Choice judging or get your fill from a few of our local grill master's like Blacksmith Barbeque.
