Wednesday, September 16, 2015 - 6:30pm, $40 Suli Wei Dickson Suli assisted in our Chinese Hot Pot class last fall and impressed us so much with her knowledge and technique that we asked if she wouldn't mind conducting a class of her own. She'll demonstrate a number of different kinds of dumplings using seasonal ingredients and the various ways to cook them. You'll learn to make the dough, roll, pinch and cook it. SEAFOOD 103 - One Seat Left! September 23, 2015 - 6:30 pm, $50 Dagmar Kupsche - The Cook's Shop Dagmar will add to her seafood and lobster classes, combining them into one class. Recipes will include Stewed Squid with Tomatoes, Baked Scallops, Lobster Mango Quesadillas and Honey Lime Grilled Shrimp. Everything from purchase to table will be covered. Class is limited to 16.

KNIFE SKILLS - HANDS ON! Friday, October 2, 2015 - 6:30 pm, $55 Ed Bartush - Wusthof Knives Sales Rep. Ed will discuss knife construction, metal composition and sharpening. He'll also demonstrate proper cutting techniques along with a few tips and tricks that you can use in your own kitchen. You'll learn to properly cut onions and tomatoes, de-bone a chicken, carve a chicken or turkey and make an apple swan garnish! Best of all, you'll get your own Wusthof Classic paring knife to use and take home. This knife retails for $49.99 and has been given a "Highly Recommended" rating by Cooks Magazine - their highest rating. This is a hands-on class limited to 14. Prior to class, Ed will be available to sharpen your knives for $2 each. KNIFE SHARPENING Friday, October 2, 2015 - 6:00 to 6:30 pm, $2 per knife. SUSHI Monday, October 5, 2015 - 6:30 pm, $50 Dave Rudie-son - Chef, da Vinci's This is our most popular class, hands down, so call quickly if you want a seat!You'll learn to cook perfect rice, select the proper ingredients (Dave will cover both seafood and vegetable sushi) and roll your own. If you're lucky, Dave will make up a few rolls of Hot Dog Sushi too! Each participant will take home their own bamboo sushi mat. Class is limited to 14. GERMAN DINNER Monday, October 19, 2015 - 6:30pm, $45 Jamie Heydinger - Chef Chef Jamie's first German Class sold out in a week. He is classically trained in German Cuisine and is working on some kind of an October "Feast". Stay tuned for details, but don't wait to sign-up! Lederhosen will get you a front row seat!!! Saturday, October 24, 2015 - 2:00pm, $45 Isaac Noland - Jackie O's, Athens Isaac will be creating a salad of root veggies with a beer dressing, Beer Cheese Squash Gratin, Flemish Stew, and Beer Braised Fruit with Cranberries served over Pound Cake. We will be serving a mulled beer.Isaac will also talk about how and why to choose the perfect beer for specific types of food. Class is limited to 16.

GINGERBREAD HOUSES Tuesday, December 1, 2015 - 6:30 pm, $45Dagmar Kupsche - The Cook's Shop Each participant will receive prepared pieces for a complete gingerbread house along with building and decorating techniques and designs. We'll supply the decorations, but you're free to bring your own if you want to add something special. Class is limited to 14 and is open to adults and children 15 and older. Everyone will go home with a completed gingerbread house to display during the Holiday Season. FANCY ICED COOKIES Tuesday, December 8, 2015 - 6:30 pm, $35Dagmar Kupsche - The Cook's Shop This is a repeat of last year's popular class. You will learn the art of outlining and filling your designs on rolled out cookies. We'll focus on piping, "floating" and pulling designs thru wet icing. This hands-on class is limited to 14. CRANTASTIC HOLIDAYS! Tuesday, December 15, 2015 - 6:30 pm, $40Dagmar Kupsche - The Cook's Shop This class will focus on.... Cranberries! Dagmar grew up down the street from some of Ocean Spray's cranberry bogs. She will teach Cranberry Salsa, Cranberry Sauce, Cranberry Relish and more. KIDS HOLIDAY GIFT CLASS Sunday, December 20, 2015 - 2:00 pm, $20 Jessie Etter - Chef, Marietta College Moms and Dads, bring your child to The Cook's Shop for 1-1/2 hours of fun while you get in a little last minute shopping at the shops in downtown Marietta! The kids will be taught to make food gifts (we can't tell you because it's a surprise!) for the family! Class is limited to 12 students and is hands-on. |
