It's one of our favorite daily moments - that brief time of day when we pause from our work, sip a cup of coffee, ponder what's next on the to-do list, and regain some of our mojo.

Sep 30 - Tip of the Day: Having a hard time peeling your garlic cloves? Try microwaving them for 15 seconds before. The skins will peel right off!

 

Sep 29 - Tip of the Day: Need help cleaning your cutting boards? Rub them with baking soda then spray with distilled white vinegar. Let them sit for 5 minutes and then rinse clean! 

 

Sep 26 - Tip of the Day: Freezing Fresh Herbs! Chop all of your leftover fresh herbs and then transfer by the spoonful into ice cube trays, and top with water to cover. Once the cubes are frozen, transfer them to a zipper-lock plastic bag and seal. Store until you want to add them to sauces, soups or stews.

Thursday, October 6 - Festive & Fabulous: Holiday Appetizers - 6:30 p.m.  

We all entertain more during the holidays.  This year add some new recipes to your repertoire to spice up your holiday gatherings.   In this class, Resident Chef, JaDene Denniston has simple recipes that are delicious and are sure to be a hit.  Have a no-stress holiday party with these fool-proof recipes on your menu.

 

Saturday, October 8 - Harvest Soups - 11:00 a.m. 

Fall is a wonderful time of year.  The scenery is beautiful, the upcoming holidays are exciting, and the food is warm and comforting.  Harvest soups are a great way to feed your family on a cold fall evening.  Janice Skousen has recipes that will take your old, tired soup recipes to the next level.  Don't miss out on this harvest class!

 

Tuesday, October 11 - Chinese Favorites - 6:30 p.m.  

Chinese food makes a great weeknight dinner or a casual meal to entertain with.  Tiffany Jeppsen has recipes that will quickly become favorites!  She has lived all over the world and has great, authentic recipes that you will make again and again

 

Wednesday, October 12 -Hands On Whole Wheat Bread - 1:00 p.m. 

Come learn from our in-store instructor how to make delicious wheat bread using freshly ground wheat flour.  Instructor will also demonstrate how to make our cinnamon/currant variation.  Includes pan and one loaf of bread to take home. 

 

Thursday, October 13 -Slow Cooker Sensations - 6:30 p.m. 

The holiday season seems to get busier each year.  With such a busy schedule, it's time to pull out the slow cooker and get a little help with dinner.  Local caterer, Leah Nielsen has delicious recipes that can be prepared in the slow cooker.  These dinners are sure to save you time, stress, and frustration!  With a little planning earlier in the day, these meals will be on the table in no time.

 

Saturday, October 15 - Holiday Chocolates - 11:00 a.m.

Chocolates and homemade candies are one of the best, most decadent parts of the holiday season.  This year, get rid of your fear and get in the kitchen!  Master candymaker & chocolatier Ruth Kendrick has all the knowledge you need to be able to create delicious centers, temper chocolate, dip, and store your creations.  You will be armed with all the tips & tricks you need to make homemade chocolates and candies right at home.

 

Tuesday, October 18 -Tender Whole Grain Baking: Pastry Wheat 101 - 6:30 p.m.

We all try and try to eat healthy and enjoy it.  Sometimes it works okay, sometimes not.  In this class, learn the secret to tender, delicious whole grain baked goods rather than gritty, heavy lumps that we convince ourselves we enjoy eating.  The secret is soft white wheat!  This magical whole grain has all the nutrition you want but behaves just like white flour.  Even sugar cookies will turn out amazing and no one will be able to detect the difference!  Jenny Beykirch has the information you need to be able to create amazing, healthy whole grain treats that you've got to see to believe!

 

Thursday, October 20 - Ghoulishly Great: Halloween Goodies & Treats -  6:30 p.m. Autumn brings so many great things with it when it arrives.  The smells, the sights, the sounds, and most importantly....the tastes!  Halloween is the perfect excuse to create ghoulishly great treats for the kids to take to school, to give as neighbor gifts, or for your Halloween party.  In this class Resident Chef, JaDene Denniston has fun, creative recipes to make your Halloween and entire Autumn extra special!

 

Friday, October 21 -Harvest Celebration - 6:30 p.m. 

The fall harvest has so much to offer!  Pumpkins, apples, squash, and more!  Come learn in this class with Resident Chef, JaDene Denniston all about using up the harvest plenty!  Fresh apple cider among other wonderful, fresh treats will be just one way you and your family can celebrate the harvest!  Registration proceeds from this class will be donated to help CAPSA.

 

Saturday, October 22 - Tour of Italy - 11:00 a.m.  

Italian food is a guilty pleasure that is a favorite for most of us.  In this class Kezia Whitteker has delicious recipes that are great for any occasion!  October is Italian Heritage Month and what a better way to celebrate than through all the foods that come from Italy?  Come learn these delicious favorites and take a culinary tour of Italy!
