People-Pleasing Posole
When the breezes blow a little cooler, the leaves flutter to the ground, and an evening sweater is once again necessary, the first soup of the season that we make is this hearty, spicy Posole. It's a comfort food that hits the spot for an evening supper, or as game time fare.
Welcome
Classes and Events
Chef's HatWe are so pleased that our FALL CLASS SCHEDULE was such a hit!  While most classes are full and overflowing, we still have a couple of spots left in two great classes:

If you are available on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd, from noon until 1:00, you should sign up for our mini-class, THINKING OUTSIDE THE POT (full class description below). We'll be doing a fun, mini-menu that will help you learn to use LE CREUSET cookware to its fullest potential! If you don't know the first thing about LE CREUSET, or even if you do----this will be a great little class. Trish Ranallo has been with LE CREUSET for many years and always has myriad tips, tricks, and recipes for you to try out. The class is ONLY $10, so call 248-684-1373 right now to reserve one of the two remaining spots!

On SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th, Ed Bartush of Wusthof Cutlery will be offering a CLASS and KNIFE-SHARPENING. No registration necessary for the sharpening, but please call to secure a spot in the class! See the details below!

THINKING OUTSIDE THE POT! - only 2 seats left!
So many people that come into the store remark that their favorite piece of cookware in their kitchen is a piece of Le Creuset.    If you don't yet own a piece, by all means, sign up for this little mini-class.  We'll show you the extreme versatility of this marvelous cookware while preparing some delicious dishes. Most folks know that you can make stews and soups in their enamel on cast iron cookware-but we wanted to take it a step further and show a few other ways to use some of their pieces.   We won't take every dish from start to finish in class, in order to fit this into a mini-class, but you'll still get a complete packet of recipes and a taste of all we've prepared.  Here's the menu:
  • Crusty bread baked in a Le Creuset round French oven
  • Tart Tatin in a braiser- delicious apple-y goodness, served upside-down!
  • Sweet Potato chips prepared in a round oven with a fry basket - served on a Le Creuset  platter with fabulous gourmet toppings!  Oh, my!
  • Apple & French onion dip in a skillet, fabulous and fall-ish!
What can you make in a piece of Le Creuset?  Almost anything!  Come and find out for yourself!  Trish knows all the tips and tricks to get the most out of your cookware.
Saturday, September 26 - 10 - 11:30am - $35
THE CUTTING EDGE: A HANDS-ON KNIFE SKILLS CLASS
Most of our customers love to spend time in the kitchen and have some great cooking skills, but most of us could always use a little help with our knife skills. Ed Bartush, of Wusthof, teaches a wonderful class to help all of us along our path to honing our skills in the kitchen.  Learn how to hold your knife correctly as well as slice & chop properly.  This class always provides a wealth of information and is quite entertaining as well. Each participant will leave with a Wusthof bench scraper that we normally sell for $14.99.  C'mon-----learn something new!
Saturday, September 26 - 12n - 3pm - FREE!
GET SHARP! - Our Annual Knife Sharpening Event
It's that time of year! While Ed Bartush is here, he'll be available to sharpen your knives. Ed will graciously be sharpening  your knives for free! You may bring up to three knives--no serrated, please. Knowing that our customers are a generous lot, we'll put out a jar for those who would like to help out COMMUNITY SHARING; a local organization that does a fantastic job of helping those in need in our community.
