Grilling Steaks - Bistro Style
Emerging as a favored style of cooking and eating, the term, "bistro style" is a loose homage to French bistros, small restaurants. Casual in nature, and focused on everyday meals, the ingredients are fresh and imbued with herbs and flavors that make each bite memorable.

IN THIS ISSUE, we're preparing steaks, bistro style. Prepped with spices and herbs, steaks are grilled to individual preferences and enhanced with complementary sides and sauces. Below you'll find Grilled Rib-Eye Steak Au Poivre with Onion Straws, Creole, Coffee-Rubbed Filet Mignon with Bearnaise Sauce, and Bistro Steak and Frites with Shallot Butter. Your deck just became the best bistro in town!

We'll be welcoming Stephanie Grostick (yes, Chef Steven's other half!) from STEEPED TEA. She'll be in from noon until 3, sampling some of their delicious teas. Some of you may have been in our recent cooking class when Steven made a sweet tea cocktail with some of Stephanie's tea, so you know just how tasty it is. Stephanie can give you plenty of ideas for using their teas, and educate you about the ins and outs of properly preparing different types of teas as well as sampling some Steeped Tea Scone mixes and other goodies. Come in and find out what STEEPED TEA is all about!

Jamaican Me Crazy - A Grilling Extravaganza

No time to visit the islands?  No worries, mon!  Steven will fire up the grill and bring the islands to us! Although this will be a full-flavored meal, it will not be particularly hot so please don't let the fear of heat keep you away. This will be a grill class, first and foremost! Don't miss out! Strike up the steel drums -- here's what he's got planned:

This class is an annual favorite for good reason.  We're featuring Susan's delicious fish tacos and some great sides from the southwest.  This menu  is one of those go-to meals that works no matter who you're serving because everybody LOVES it!  We'll have:

Summer on the Cape - An Outdoor Grill Class

Surf & turf with an east coast twist!  Steven will be preparing this sumptuous feast, perfect to enjoy with company in the middle of summer.  Come enjoy some fresh, bold flavors!

SAVE THE DATE! - Thursday, August 6th
It's never to early to mark your calendar for our POLISH POTTERY PARTY and SALE.  It comes but once a year, and we don't want you to miss it!  On Thursday evening, August 6th, we'll kick off our sale with some wonderful polish food brought in from Polish Village in Hamtramck from 5-8 pm.  The 20% DISCOUNT on Polish Pottery begins then as well, and lasts through Sunday, August 9th. The store will be loaded with gorgeous pieces of the beloved polish stoneware, with everything from tiny spoons to large covered roasters.  We'll have plenty of Unikat pieces, all marked with the artist's name. There will be a wonderful selection with something that suits just about everyone. Folks come from far and wide to take part in the fun. We hope you'll choose to be one of them.
